Is y=((x^2-16)/(x-4)) differentiable? Explain why or why not.

well if you simplify the top equation and cancel the top and bottom, you are left with just the numerator of x+4. So if you differentiate that, it will only = 1

well the function isn't continuous at x=4 so ....what does that say about being differentiatable at x=4?
