What would the negation of an implication be? I need to negate the statement "If x^2=1, then x=(plus or minus) 1. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Just insert the word "NOT" into the statement and also into it's implication.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So... "If x^2=1 then, x is not equal to (plus or minus) 1?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You made the statement false by your negation. How about "if x^2 is not = 1, then x is not = (plus or minus) 1.

Thanks!
