x represents the week and f(x) represents the height of the plant. Neither can have negative values. Otherwise there is no mathematical restriction. But from a practical standpoint we know plants can only grow to a certain height and they can't live forever. But that is beside the point. Here they are asking for mathematical restrictions.

The domain is [0, infinity)    (since 0 is included I used a bracket instead of parenthesis)
When x = 0, y = 1
Therefore, Range is [1, infinity)
