What is the codon for the amino acid methionine on planet X around star Y in galaxy Z? Thanks, Alistair Garratt
wat is planet X star Y.....? the universal code for methionine is AUG. but as we have not encountered with an alien organism so this is true for all organisms on earth. (this is what i know)
Come on, there is no universal code for methionine, but maybe just purines, pyrimidines, ribose, deoxyribose and around 20 amino acids and minerals, water, energy and thermodynamics are, okay? Hast du det verstanden. Jut! Lg, ein Mensch auf der Erde.
what?? i dint quite get u....AUG is the codon for methionine....and the genetic code that has been deciphered is said to be universal...so yes i think i am right...unless u r pointing towards something else..
Of course I'm talking about something else. You have to couple a tRNA with an amino acid...surely there's no need for the enzymes that make the two methione-coupled tRNAs themselves should be universal in their active sites. NUCLEIC ACIDS AND AMINO ACIDS ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TYPES OF LEGO-Bausteine. Why should the sixty four codons be the same across the whole of the universe. This is not a requirement for life. It's just the wonderful molecules of baryonic matter. But ask Steve what he thinks about the dark matter and the dark energy. Bevause maybe the neuronal discharges in nervous system impinge on the patterning of the particles or waves that underly underlie dark energy/dark matter and resul in a collective universal consviousness....it's just a dream, that's all it is, ask Steven Spielberg, ask Gene Rodedenberry, ask Spock.
