Let A be the set {1,2,3,4} which ordered pairs are in the relation R={(a,b) such that a divides b }? it's solved here but why there's no R= {3,1} or {3,2} ? and some other sets ? 3/2 does not give a 0 , so what's going on here ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divides means goes in to with no remainder

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if a|b, then for some integer k, b = ak

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it doesn't mean "you can divide it"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah , thank you ^^

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i think this is saying you are stuck in "posting" mode ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because I can't thank you enough !

OpenStudy (amistre64):

:) good luck
