OpenStudy (xmoses1):

The first number of three consecutive even integers equals the sum of the second and third. Find the three numbers. If x represents the smallest integer, then which of the following equations could be used to solve the problem? x = 2x + 6 x = 2x + 3 2x + 2 = x + 4

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Any ideas?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

You need ideas to get answers, right?

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Oh sorry. I am not sure where to start :/

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

The first of 3 consecutive numbers always equals, roughly, one half the sum of the next two. SO, how is the solution found?

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Well if i knew the number i could add the last two numbers and then divide them by two. Then i would know the first number?
