Glen’s bag weighs 1.7 pounds and it costs $1.48. If p = pounds of caramels, which equation in simplest form represents the situation described.

you can say the following: let number of pounds of caramel =x let number of pounds of candy corn =y so, x+y=1.7 (---> weight-wise) 0.79x+1.48y=1.48 (---> cost-wise) see how I am getting this?
