Well, diffusion is the movement of certain things, yes? 

And things tend to move from areas of high concentration to areas of low concentration, at a speed that is related to how much the two areas of concentration differ. The measure of  the difference in concentration is the concentration gradient. 

That should help you figure out the relationship.
