Which pair of angles has congruent values for the sin x° and the cos y°? a. 50°; 40° b. 50°; 50° c. 50°; 100° d. 50°; 130°

Directrix (directrix):

Which angle is x and which is y in the options? I'm not sure it makes any difference but is that distinction given in the problem?

Directrix (directrix):

@lowcard2 ^^^^ See above question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure that is all the problem says.

Directrix (directrix):

Think about this: the sine and cosine functions have the same sign in the first quadrant but not in the second. That would take out the last two options.

Directrix (directrix):

Then, let's return to the cofunction chart from the previous problem. Of 50 and 50 and the 50 and 40 which pair of angle measures sums to 90 which would mean that the angles are complementary?

Directrix (directrix):

Any idea?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah a50;40 Thx ig to it.

Directrix (directrix):

I agree.
