Does someone have a quick, easy, simple explanation of what a photon is? Thanks :)
A photon is a particle that carries electromagnetic waves (light) over space.
A photon is a unit-packet of electromagnetic wave.
Yeah, so unfortunately everything has this particle/wave duality. So while we might call something a photon or electron, they also behave as waves and can be diffracted like waves. I mean, it's super interesting but it's also hard to really give a good short answer unless you've seen some of the experimental data, like Young's double slit.
Its an elementary particle/matter(quantum,in case of light) of EM wave ! jus as electrons e.t.c in an atom !! Simply electromagnetic force carriers !!
A photon represents a quantum of electromagnetic radiation that carries energy proportional to the radiation frequency but has zero rest mass.
well basically photon is a unit of light a quantum of light is called a photon.quantum is the packet of energy...
a photon is a particle of light that carries the electromagnetic force
a photon is a particle of light that carries the electromagnetic force
the photon depending the recent theory is the support that have a dual nature particule/wave that carries the electrolomagnetic wave .
A photon is a packet of electro-magnetic energy. That's it. It plays by its own rules, and you have to learn the rules to understand as well as you can understand it. You can make it behave like a particle (a billiard ball) or like a wave in a wading pond, but it is neither a particle nor a wave nor both nor something in between.
