What is the solution set of {x | x < 2} https://media.glynlyon.com/g_alg01_2013/4/union.gif {x | x ≥ 2}? all numbers less than -2 and greater than 2 the numbers between -2 and 2 the empty set all real numbers
is there a symbol missing between } { \[\cap,\cup\]?
the U
ah yeah \[\large \{x | x < 2\} \cup \{x | x ≥ 2\}\]
yes thats how it is writen
so the union of the sets , where one set is numbers less than two, and the other sets is numbers greater that or equal to 2
the union of sets is a set that contains all the elements in both sets
so would it be an empty set or A
@terenzreignz
when i say 'all the elements in both sets ' i mean all the elements in the first set and all the element in the second set (without repeating elements ) for example \[\{a,b,c\}∪\{c,d,e\}=\{a,b,c,d,e\}\]
@Cweezie23 combine them, sort of. Union is like 'or' So it's the set of numbers that are either less than 2, OR not less than 2. What does that give you? XD
btw, that IS another way to read the \(\ge\) symbol "not less than"
im lost...i suck at math
@KattGirl14
can you tell me some of the elements in the set {x | x < 2} ?
got the answer nvm imm good lol
i wonder what you'll do in exam
