plse answer this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am working on a contract job, earned $6 more everyday than the previous day.How much money will I get on the 25 th day? what should be the starting salary & why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldn't $6 be the starting salary?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

srry its dollar 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

srry its dollar 3 in place of dollar 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so per day the formula shouldd be 3x, i believe, so day one would be 3, because that is 3 * 1. The 25th day should be 3*25

@amistre64 @ganeshie8 @hartnn

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you have an arithmetic progression ....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

d1 = d1 d2 = d1+3 d3 = d2 + 3 = d1 + 3 + 3 d4 = d3 + 3 = d1 + 3 + 3 + 3 d5 = d4 + 3 = d1 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 you see a pattern forming?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

dn = d1 + 3(n-1) you have not provided a starting amount so you can only define it in terms of d1 until d1 can be defined.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so , til here i can solve and it cant be solved further

OpenStudy (amistre64):

correct. without knowing what the value of day 1 actaully is, there is no way to calculate a definable value for the other days .... all we know is that it is 3 more than the previous day
