OpenStudy (kailee1423):

Please help for a medal. Which of the following explains why normal cells grown in a petri dish tend to stop growing once they have covered the bottom of the dish? A. The cells lack cyclin. B. The petri dish inhibits cell growth. C. Contact with other cells stops cell growth. D. Most cells grown in petri dishes have a defective p53.

OpenStudy (kailee1423):

It's not B.

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

When cells covers the dish, they are given the signal to stop growing. Those that do not have such a signal are what causes uncontrolled growth, which is what Cancer is.

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

It's B D:

OpenStudy (kailee1423):

I put B and it was wrong

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Hmm

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Well I guess C, as it also claims to prevent further growth.

OpenStudy (kailee1423):

That would've been my next guess.

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

IS that right? o:

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Is*

OpenStudy (kailee1423):

I'll tell you when I submit the exam lol

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Ok x3 Is this FLVS or Connections btw?

OpenStudy (kailee1423):

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Is that a school?

OpenStudy (kailee1423):

It's online

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

I do FLVS online

OpenStudy (kailee1423):

I never heard of that one.

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

It's exclusive to Florida. If you are outside of Florida there are payments.

OpenStudy (kailee1423):

Oh. Im from Tennessee lol

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

OpenStudy (kailee1423):
