How do you find the amplitude and period of y=2cos(pi/6x)+1

OpenStudy (kropot72):

\[If\ y=A \cos (Bx+C)+D\] the amplitude is |A| and the period T is given by \[T=\frac{2\pi}{B}\ ...........(1)\] In the question A is 2 units and \[B=\frac{\pi}{6}\] Substituting the value of B into equation (1) gives \[T=\frac{2 \pi}{\frac{\pi}{6}}=?\]
