look at the attachments when two parallel line cuts through another line (4)+(6)=180 degrees, and (6)+(8)= 180 degrees as well. So on your question we can right this equation 45x-5+16x-2=180 since we want the lines to be parallel. x=3 comes from this eq. Then. 16x-2+26y=180 gives you the y value. just plug the x=3 in. Try it yourself ! hope it will be helpful, even-though my English sucks :(
