If Rg=95Ω with Rs=5Ω in an ammeter . What %age of current will flow through Rs ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AllTehMaffs I hope this one is not waste of time of you :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's NEVER a waste of time - if a problem doesn't work, then that means something even more important is learned - never trust a test giver ~_^ I'm gonna waste your time though, because I don't really know even a little :/ :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorries :(

OpenStudy (radar):

I assume Rs is the shunt, is the Rg the internal resistance of the ammeter? Assuming, the two resistors are in effect parallel, assume 95 volt is across the network. There would be 1 amp through the 95 Ohm and 19 amps through the 5 Ohm, the total current is 20 amp and of that 20 amp, 19 is flowing through Rs. What percentage is 19 of 20?

OpenStudy (radar):

Hope this helps.

OpenStudy (radar):

Looks like 95% is flowing through Rs

Thank you so much @radar :)

You're welcome and good luck with your studies in electricity.

Ty :)
