How do mitosis and meiosis differ in the division of genetic composition?

OpenStudy (zale101):

Mitosis occurs on our body for cell repair and growth, when it divides, the diploid parent cell splits into two diploid daughter cells. Meiosis on the other hand occurs only during reproduction, and it starts with two division which produces four haploid daughter cells. Keep in mind that gametes or sex cells are haploid and somatic cells or body cells are diploid.
