For the function y = f(x), what is the ordered pair for the point on the graph when x = p + 1? (x, f(p)) (x, p + 1) (p + 1, f(p + 1)) (p + 1, f(p))

@phi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no clue on this one.

OpenStudy (phi):

you plot (x,y) points here, y is the same as f(x), so you plot (x, f(x) ) if x is p+1, replace x with p+1 in (x, f(x) )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh, so I have (p + 1, f(x))?

OpenStudy (phi):

you want to replace *all* the x's in (x, f(x) ) with p+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, hmm...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I have (p + 1, f(p + 1))?

OpenStudy (phi):

yes
