This quote means if you don’t take a shot you’ll never know if you’re going to make it. I personally know this quote very well. I’ve learned that when you don’t think you can do something, and you give up chances are you could have done it. Life is all about taking chances. Look at this from a teen’s point of view. Let’s say you really like a boy, or a girl, and you don’t know what to do. If you never do anything about him/her you’re going to spend your whole life wondering whether you should go for it, or not. You have to go for it. For all you know he or she could be madly in love with you. He/she may be too scared to say anything to you. You have to take the first step. This is where taking chances comes into play.
I’ve had many days where all I wanted to do was crawl back into my bed, and go to sleep. I can’t do that. For all I know it could be the day that my little brother comes over. It could also be the day my aunt takes me shopping. If I wasn’t awake I would never know if it was the day that everything changes.
Everyone in the world that I don’t know has a point in their life where their scared to do something. Even it’s something little like asking your mom to lend you a dollar, or something big like buying a house. I remember seeing this commercial where a little girl was stuck on the side of the pool with her floats on. Her dad reassured her and made sure that she knew he would catch her if she jumped, and she jumped. Life’s like a pool, you have to dive in head first or you’ll never know how much fun life can really be.
