Write the equation of a line in slope-intercept form that is parallel to the line y = 3x +2 and passes through the point (5, 2).

hartnn (hartnn):

can you find the slope f y = 3x+2 line ?

hartnn (hartnn):

compare it with y=mx+c m= slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't remember how to do this so i'm going to stick around to see your teachings @hartnn if you don't mind.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am confused...

hartnn (hartnn):

no problem at all :)

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Parallel slopes are equal. just plug in the the coordinates of (5,2) into y=mx+b since you have your x and y coordinates and your slope. from there you just need to solve for b to get your equation

hartnn (hartnn):

wow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awh come on shamil.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to help them help themselves. see what they know. etcetera.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

all i did was explain how to get it

hartnn (hartnn):

|dw:1383935351753:dw| m= ... ?
