Help! Slant asymptote.

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what the remainder?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Sorry, I don;t understand what you mean.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you have a division problem .... what the remainder?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Oh. Like this? \[2x-2\sqrt{3x-x^2}?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

call 911 jk:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yes, but it might be best to put the polys by highest degress

OpenStudy (amistre64):

asymptote + remainder ----------- 2x -2 | -x^2 + 3x

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Ok. I think I can long divide that.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

as x gets large, the remainder part goes to zero leaving the asymptote in charge

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

I guess I need help dividing this out.

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Sorry.
