Read the narrative and determine the point of view: "As the teen walked along the beach with his mother, he knew he had to tell her the truth. He realized she may never forgive him for the deception, but that she deserves to know. He thought that to recover her trust, he would need to demonstrate responsibility now for what he did and be honest about it." third person objective, I think
It would either be third-person objective or third-person omniscient. Third person objective is when the narrator is not involved in the action and also cannot read any thoughts of characters. Third person omniscient is when the author can switch between characters and their thoughts. In this piece, the author can read what the character is thinking, e.g. "He realised she may never forgive him for the deception". This is most likely third-person omniscient, but could also be accepted as third-person objective because it does not explicitly tell how the character is feeling, just his thoughts.
