Medal Rewarded! What is the value of b in the quadratic regression equation for these points: (2, 5), (4, 11), (5, 41), and (9, -2)? A. -14.92 B. 10.76 C. 15.62 D. 26.06

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shamil98 please help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know for a fact its not D,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

heres what I got for the quadratic regression equation y = -2.4038x^2 + 26.0587x - 40.8238

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now i just gota fiND OF THE VALUE OF B IN THE REGRESSION

OpenStudy (shamil98):

26.0587 rounded to the nearest hundreth is 26.06. I have no idea how to do this btw .. lol.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

well the equation is in y= ax^2 +bx +c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know for a fact its not D as the answer, cause i got it wrong last time:)

OpenStudy (shamil98):

oh. hm.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe @thomaster can help us?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Luigi0210 can u help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

I'm trying .-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay get back to me @Luigi0210

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Wait, I think I got it..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes! what do you think it is? and how did you get the answer?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

According to my calculator it's D..

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

What I did first was type in the equation into the y= The clicked on 2nd, y, and turned plot 1 on. After that I went to STAT, edit, and plugged in the points. Then I went to STAT, to the right on "calc" and down to #5 that says QuadReg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you possitive that this may be the answer?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Not 100% >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm im sure you probably right, but ill check with a teacher:)

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Alright, sorry I'm not much help >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its okay atleast your trying!:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ill let you know if its right, my teachers correcting it:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):
