Divide eight and one-sixth divided by four and two-thirds.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, turn them both into pure fractions (no mixed numbers). That leaves you with 8 1/6 = 49/6 and 4 2/3 = 14/3. Now, when you divide 49/6 by 14/3, it is the same as multiplying 49/6 by 3/14. So, first cross cancel the 3 and the 6, leaving you with 49/2 x 1/14. Now multiply the numerators and keep that as your numerator, and multiply the denominators and keep that as your denominator. Therefore, the final answer is 49/28
