Okay Nancy. Let's do this. If I put 3 dollars into a jar and have 5 now. How much did I have before? I'm sure you can do that one. 2 dollars. This above problem is just as easy. Nancy put 20.00 dollars into her jar and now has 225.50. To figure out how much she has, we do the same thing as we did before. We subtract right? So if we do $225.50-$20.00, we should get the amount in her account before she made the deposit, or what they call n. $225.50-$20.00=n
