Can some one help me please?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Part A: Nadia rented a stage platform at $410 for 4 days. If she rents the same stage platform for 8 days, she has to pay a total rent of $770. Write an equation in the standard form to represent the total rent (y) that Nadia has to pay for renting the stage platform for x days. (4 points)

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

X + A = y?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

@amistre64 @help123please. @Senka™ @Preetha please help.

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

@hartnn @austinL @cwrw238 please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Assume that there is an up front fee, f, and a daily rental rate of d dollars per day. Solve the following for f and d:\[\{f+4d=410,f+8d=770\}\]

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

oh i see...so f would be a dependent variable right? then d would be the charge perday?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well the equations give {d = 90, f = 50} The first day costs 140 and each day after that the daily rate is 50.

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

I think i understand...so a function notation of this could be F(x) = 50d + 90?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

But that equation does not make sense for the second one where 8 days equal 770...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When \[\frac{410}{4}\neq \frac{770}{8} \]then there is probably and an intial one time cost to rent the stage.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The renter would probably say that the stage rental is "$50 plus $90 per day"

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

What would a function notation be? Part B: Write the equation obtained in Part A using function notation.(2 points)

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

@robtobey please come back

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

the equation does not equal the function notation it makes...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@undeadknight26 did you get the right answers?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

i forgot sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
