Can someone please describe the differences between the graph of y = -3(x + 7)2 - 10 and the standard position graph of y = x2

Well, since its negative, the graph is flipped upside down. The function is moved to the left due to x+7 (the standard form for this is (x-h, so when you input a negative, it becomes positive such as x+7). It is moved down -10
