Let f(x) = 7x - 13. Find f-^1(x).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you mean the inverse?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ie. f ^{-1}(x)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so you let y=7x-13 you swap your letters x and y so now x=7y-13 and solve for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

13x - 7 rt?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not quite, you have the right idea so if x=7y-13 x+13=7y so y=(x+13)/7 do you understand how I got that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well that is your answer!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok tyvm
