What occurs after fertilization in a flowering plant?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The petals develop around the ovary The ovules grow inside a stamen. The anthers grow inside the stigmas The seeds develop inside a fruit

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

fertilization occurs in the ovary of the flower which is situated at the base of the style. The pollen lands on the stigma, a pollen tube grows all the way down the style and connects to the ovary. The nucleus of the pollen falls down the tube and fertilizes the egg in the ovary.

first response is not wrong but it explains the process of fertilization, not what happens after the fertilization. so, the answer is "the seeds develop inside a fruit". that's the point of fertilization. then, the plant is able to reproduce.
