OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

I need a refreshing

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Not just from God, but in math. How do you get that? How does the 2 in front of the x^2 affect it?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

okay, standard form is also called vertex form

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Right.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you're given the quadratic in general form : \(f(x) = 2x^2+x-6\)

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

...and when I re worked it I just ignored the 2, but obviously thats not right.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

First step : pull out the coefficient of \(x^2\)

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

*gasp*

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you need help wid converting it to vertex form or what ? i see that it was green checked in the pic u posted :o

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

I worked it like 3 weeks ago and was re working it for review. I forgot how I got it lol.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

\(f(x) = 2x^2+x-6\) you need to change it to \(f(x) = a(x-h)^2 + k\)

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

I was doing this...|dw:1384048620641:dw| but I see thats an EPIC fail.
