which has higher magnetism property carbon or oxygen?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

oxygen does

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Definitely oxygen. Liquid oxygen can be suspended between two magnets. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiXQKAwoRLY Only 1.1% of carbon atoms (the isotope carbon 13) are magnetic.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

hmm you mean their nuclei have a magnetic spin (used in NMR), which is not the same thing :P. paramagnetism involves unpaired electrons.

Interesting, hadn't really thought about the difference. Thanks for pointing that out :)
