Confused... @DonaldRoyMiller

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He wants the reader to feel that revenge id necessary?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When I said, they call me "Thick skinned miller" it was a TYPO. I meant thin-skinned!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you feel? I felt suspense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Who?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The "official" answer is probably horror. But I've become too jaded for that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was not really feeling suspense, because all he did was lead him into a chamber promising good wine, chain him to a wall, build a wall around him, lets him die.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then let it be horror!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not a fan of Poe, he was a creep.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We know that he was not up to any good, that he's crazy right from the outset. I'm doing this from memory, but I remmber him talking about the thousand of insults he endured from Fortunato, who is clueless about that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No he wasn't take that back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Fortunato is Drunk.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The thing is--How did you feel?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Poe went to murder scenes without authorization and felt no remorse over the death of a brutally murdered individual.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He didn't kill the guy, so why should he feel "remorse"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Poe was a reporter.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Poe was criticized in his own time for daring to examine a crime with no apparent motive, and a murderer with no apparent remorse.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know, his stories and poems repulse me though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you sure I'm not familiar lol?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I love Poe. GREAT sense of humor. Laugh my head off.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, now it your turn to try to impress us by being "hardcore"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a masterpiece!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I really am a fan of Poe's. AND it is funny i a twisted kind of way. "For the love of God!"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Typical Opinion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"For the love of God, indeed." The narrator is someone with no remorse, that's for sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see my work here is done.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nite!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

K. I'm here,reading your work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I STILL would like to know how you felt.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

At no point in the story does Fortunato realize why he is being entombed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Doesn't the narrator say something about the person must know WHY they are being killed? I think it's in this story, if memory serves.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure about that. Let's ask someone who would know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I sent a message.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

These things are good to know. and I just dunno. Discussing it and fine-tuning it with someone doesn't seem dishonest to me, but I'm no expert.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about that other question I asked. Doesn't the narrator say that? Not sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lena, they would have access to the entire file, I believe. Doesn't matter if you delete it, I think. Besides, if it's not dishonest--and I don't think it is--you have nothing to worry about.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Jamierox4ev3r need help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I only suggested an improvement. I suppose you should clear up with your teacher what they expect. But in my opinion discussing a work of literature with others is at the heart of a liberal education.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay

OpenStudy (lena772):

I cannot find it in the story, however, here is a link to it: http://learn.flvs.net/webdav/educator_englishIII_v14/module03/pop/cask_of_amontillado.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lena, when I read that reply you gave, it just doesn't seem like YOU as an individual wrote it. It doesn't seem unique to you. That probably doesn't matter much these days, but I'd love to read how *you* would say it. That's why I tried to get you to talk about the story. Know what I mean? If you tell me what you think about the story, then you can rewrite your response in your own way of saying things--only more formally.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It might be in another story--that's why I mentioned I wasn't sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Well said. I like it. I think that one sentence can be imporved, because Fortunato doesn't know why he's being murdered, does he?
