The point (2, –4) is reflected across the line y = –1. What are the coordinates of the image?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you reflect over a y line the only thing that changes is x, so you find the distance from your x coordinate in your point and the y line, which is 2 - (-1) so 3. Then go the other way so subtract 3 from -1 and you get -4. Your y value stays the same so your new point is (-4,-4)
