can u explain it for me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A set is closed under multiplication if you take any members of that set and multiply them, the product (answer when you multiply them) will be inside the set.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The set {1,2} is NOT closed under multiplication because if you multiply 2 x 2, the product, 4, is not inside that set. You can even multiply a number by itself, or any two different numbers inside the set.
