Please Help. Imagine that you are standing at the edge of a cliff. You throw one ball straight upward and another ball straight downward at the same time and initial speed. Neglecting the effects of air resistance, compare the speeds of the balls when they hit the ground below the cliff?

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

same speed. only gravity acts on the objects vertically

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would they hit the ground at the same time then?

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

yup.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you.

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

if u dont believe me.....drop a pen and a bowling ball at the same height..... they should hi t the ground at the same time.....theorically....if u ignore air resistance
