Notice since the lines are parallel you can say |dw:1384219176371:dw| so those angles are equal

notice that since they are equal then 60 + (2x-y) = 180 and 40 + (2x+y) = 180 so you can solve for x and y from here

So even though it seems like a segment, it's a line and it still = to 180 degrees?

I drew an extra part to the picture |dw:1384219418907:dw| so if that line is extended then those angles must be equal since those lines are parallel
