Dream sequence and flashback.

Rapunzel got into bed and shut her eyes. She began to dream. In her dreams she saw a man and a woman handing a child over to her mother. She saw that the woman was weeping. She wondered why. The dream continued to show the child being reared by Rapunzel's mother. This is when Rapunzel realized that the child was her. She woke up startled and confused. She asked her mother if what she saw in her dream had happened.

"Don't be ridiculous Rapunzel," her mother scolded.

Rapunzel believed her mother was hiding something from her. She set out to find the two people she had seen in her dream.
