What was the purpose of Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The "Fourteen Points" was a 1918 statement by United States President Woodrow Wilson that the Great War was being fought for a moral cause and for postwar peace in Europe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourteen_Points

The main point was international cooperation. Wilson wanted to create a world where war was not the answer to disputes of rivalries. He created the 14 points as steps to reach that point. If he had to have only one of the points come to fruition, it would be the last point: The League of Nations. Nations would meet in this league in order to settle the disputes. The main purpose of the 14 points was to never have another war again. He made the points in a speech to the US Congress.
