If i want to check the activity of an enzyme how to go about with it? i would really appreciate if the explanation is from take the enzyme and the substrate..i need to write down each and every step..thank you
what exactly ur looking for @shrutipande9
i have to check the activity of an enzyme...as in the rate at which it converts substrate into product...
wooo then u have to find out the concentration of reactant or concentration of product with time :)
how do u find this rate if u r given just some ug of enzymes and the substrate.
like for eg we take the enzyme beta galatosidase...i can get the conc of reactants. but how to test the products...because we have glcose and galactose.
may BE TLSC or using GC u can find out the concentration
wats tlsc or gc?
ups its called TLC chromatography and Gas chromtography :) may i know what are ur reactants are they organic :)
yep...that would be lactose...because beta galactosidase breaks down lactose into glucose and galactose.
mean u have to find the amount of glucose and galacotose formed after some time then rate = [product fromed }/ time those product u can analyse by the HPLC instrument :)
ahhh...ok ok thanks:)
