The Difference in Two Boys Sedaris and Hugh are two ordinary 11 year old boys. Although they both have childlike characteristics, both live completely different lives. They have different customs in their lifestyle; there is a noticeable difference in their education, and they both experienced different childhoods. These two boys lived very different lifestyles. Sedaris family didn’t travel often; he would usually just attend to school, walk to the store, and return back home. While Hugh’s family traveled a lot due to his father being involved in the embassy. Sedaris couldn’t afford to eat fancy foods; hush puppies from the Fish Market were a first class meal for him. Hugh’s family ate many fancy foods on the count his dad knew many chefs and sultans. It would be trouble for Sedaris to find a home if was to be left on his own, only because no one could afford to take in a kid if there expenses were too much. On the other hand, Hugh can find a home quickly because his dad is very well connected with many good people. Education seemed very important to each, but one couldn’t access it like the other could. Sedaris School took his class on very educational trips, while Hugh’s school took them to the slaughter house. A slaughter house is highly inappropriate field trip for kids their age. Sedaris had access to very good education. However, Hugh moved from place to place, which made it difficult for him to get a proper education. Living in America, Sedaris can attend an English speaking school. Hugh, on the other hand, isn’t that fortunate. Since he became an American and learned English, he moved back to Africa, and there were hardly any English speaking schools to attend. Both boys experienced childhood differently. When Sedaris was seven, he and his family moved to North Carolina. They lived in a peaceful suburb. Hugh, also seven, moved to Congo with his family. Congo was never a place of wealth and great value. Sedaris had normal house pets, a cat and a dog. Conversely, Hugh had an exotic pet monkey, and two horses named Charlie and Satan. Sedaris, at his age, did what any mischievous child would do in the neighborhood, vandalizing public property. However, throwing rocks at a stop sign didn’t mean anything to Hugh; he threw rocks at crocodiles, not your typical kid activity. Sedaris and Hugh are two boys who lived completely different lives. From each, we receive a good standpoint on each of their lifestyles. Sedaris is a kid who has a lot to give. Hugh is the opposite. They both have different educational values. Every kid childhood is different. Sedaris and Hugh are friends now, but they both came from different backgrounds.
