Find the value of k.

OpenStudy (lena772):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Notice that when it says g(x) = f(x) + k, those 2 lines are parallel meaning they will have the same slope just different intercept when they ask to find k, the you only need to find the y-intercept of g(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

after you find the y-int of g(x), find the y int of f(x) and then add them together to get k

OpenStudy (lena772):

1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i worded it badly so find the y int for g(x) and f(x) then put it in this form g(x) = f(x) + k

OpenStudy (lena772):

-1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the y-int for f(x) = 1 and y-int for g(x) = -1 now we put it in the for g(x) = f(x) + k so -1 = 1 + k k = -2
