One CD player is 3 times as much as another. Together the two CD players would be $320. What is the price of the more expensive CD player? (Be sure to type only the price of the more expensive CD player in the answer blank. Do not use a $ in your answer.) Numerical Answers Expected!

Hmm........it would be 240 dollars. Let the first CD player be represented by C, and the second CD player be represent as 3c. No dollar signs :) c+ 3c = 320 4c = 320 c = 80 Then we need to factor it: 3(80) = 240. Thus, the CD player (most expensive one) is $240 (240 dollars<---without the $ sign)
