Actually, Lincoln was on the ballot in Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Missouri. The Northern (free) states comprised 183 electoral votes (60.4%). The Southern (slave) states comprised just 120 electoral votes (39.6%). Lincoln won every free state except New Jersey. So that would be False. Hope this helped. (:
