Please Help!!!! The formula volume equals one-third times base area times height can be used to find the volume of each of the following figures, except which of the following? Possible Answers: A. rectangular base pyramid B. hexagonal base pyramid C. cone D. cylinder

The key is that the above formula can only be used for pyramids, no matter the nature of the base. Obviously both A and B are pyramids, and we can think of C as a pyramid with a circular base. However, we cannot use the formula for D, a cylinder (nothing like a pyramid). Incidentally the formula is just base area times height for cylinders.
