A 5-lb box of soap powder costs $4.65. A 10-lb box of soap powder costs $8.90. Which is the better price?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4.65/5 = $0.93 per pound 8.90/10 = $0.89 per pound I'd go with the 10lb box

OpenStudy (phavor):

10lb because its not about the cost its about the amount of soap you would get in the process

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You could buy one 10lb box for $8.90, or two 5lb boxes for $9.30. That's the same amount of soap, but cheaper to buy the 10lb.
