@jigglypuff314 @jim_thompson5910 help me Please

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

Do you know what the parent graph y = x^2 looks like? if you do, do you know how translations work?

OpenStudy (yacoub1993):

no

OpenStudy (yacoub1993):

i am not good in maths

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm do you know what a quadratic equation is?

OpenStudy (yacoub1993):

no again

OpenStudy (yacoub1993):

@cwrw238 Is choice B correct

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

since the graph opens downwards the term in x^2 will be negative and they all have that property but the zeroes (where the graph cuts the x-axis are -1 and 1 so we can try -(x - 1)(x + 1) = 0 -(x^2 - 1) = 0 -x^2 + 1 = 0 +1 is the maximum value ( see graph) so the first option is correct ,
