Write the equation of a line in slope-intercept form passing through (4, 5) and (6, 8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, first find the slope b/w the two points. Then plug in numbers in the following: \[y-y_{o}= m(x-x _{o})\] Where yo is a y-value of one of the two points (so 5 or 8) and xo is x-value of one of the two points

I have a little bit different method, but feel free to continue @RebeccaD. I kinda wanna see how you would do this.

..........I'm a bit confused.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are you confused about? How to find slope? The equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Both I've always had trouble with slope, and don't really understand how to find it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, let's start with the definition of slope. So slope is basically a change, specifically a change in the x-direction and y-direction |dw:1384296873122:dw|
