The Six day war was a preemptive attack by the Israeli forces against Egypt, Syria and Jordan. They caught them off guard and Israeli forces were successful

The Israeli's won, but they gave the Sinai back to the Egyptians, and the Golan Heights back to the Syrians. This also began to brew the universal hatred of the Jews and Israel by the Arab nations surrounding them.
