A child's fear at the sight of a hypodermic needle is a(n): a. unconditioned response. b. unconditioned stimulus. c. conditioned response. d. conditioned stimulus. @OpenStudy Feedbac…
The answer depends on if the child internally has a fear of the needles, or something caused the child to have the fear. Since I graduated with a BS in Psychology, the answer is D because the child was conditioned to fear needles.
It's C. Although the explanation of Bethany makes some sense too. It's C, because the reaction of fear is a response. A kid that has never before seen a needle wont be frightened because it does not know what it is. A kid that has been wingspaned with a needle before knows that it hurts, because it couples the pain to the image of the needle (so it is conditioned) therefore it is C.
