Inequalities are basically solved the same way as normal equations, just the signs switch ways if you either divide or multiply by a negative number, or switch sides. For the first question; –6 ≥ 10 – 8x Rearrange to make x the subject as usual; -16 ≥ -8x -16/-8 ≤ x (switched the sign because we divided by a negative) 2 ≤ x Now switch to make x on the left so the sign swaps again; x ≥ 2 is the answer (D)
